Hi, I'm Bevin
A childhood of bullying because of my weight kept me off the dance floor. When I found body liberation activism, the idea that all bodies are worthy of love no matter what, it changed my life. I’ve been reclaiming dance floors ever since!
This class is as much a movement class as it is an inner child healing, a space for intentional play, practicing ease in our bodies and being radically present for our joy!
I believe “fat” is a neutral word that describes bodies. Folks can be tall and short, fat and thin and all sorts of other things that don’t affect our value. Growing up in a fatphobic society creates a lot of limiting beliefs, reclaiming and healing our inner “fat kid” is transformational!
Teaching, performing and writing about body liberation for over twenty years, I identify as a thought leader in the body positive, body liberation, and fat acceptance movements. I received the AFAA group exercise instructor certifcation and developed Fat Kid Dance Party Aerobics to help other folks learn to love their bodies, embrace their awkwardness and open up to self care!
Folks of all sizes are welcome to join us for Fat Kid Dance Party! Fun, accessibility and self love is what we’re all about, and body oppression affects people of all sizes!
